Best nursing sports bra for every mom and activity. 12 sports bras for nursing moms and breastfeeding moms who run, jump, stretch and more.
Any new mom will tell you once you’ve had your baby, going for a run or HIIT class at the gym is the last thing you want to do! I was a Crossfit regular before pregnancy, and into my pregnancy as well. But once my daughter was born, it was tough to find the motivation to get out of my postpartum PJs or standard uniform of a nursing tank and postpartum leggings.
Speaking from experience, however, once you finally feel up to braving the gym (you incredible human being!), you’ll want a nursing sports bra that can cope. Heavy milk-filled boobs require a special kind of support. And you’ll want it to be as easy as possible to nurse, pump, or even just hand express a bit to overcome that “my boobs are going to explode” feeling when the time comes.
Of course, no one is saying you can’t use a normal sports bra postpartum for your workouts. But when you are trying to juggle being a busy new mum, breastfeeding, and gym time, anything that makes life easier is appreciated. Sports bras are a struggle to put on at the best of times so having to try and squeeze out of it when sweaty, with a disgruntled baby who wants their lunch, isn’t a fun task!
And regular nursing bras, although made for easy access, aren’t designed to be as supportive as you need them to be to wear in the gym. I promise you, nobody wants to be the mom whose nursing clip pings off mid workout!

Best Sports Bra for Breastfeeding Moms
Below, you’ll find my top 12 recommendations for a sports bra for nursing moms. You’ll notice many of them come from Love and Fit, Kindred Bravely, and Anook Athletics – companies I recommend a lot. Hopefully I don’t sound like a broken record.
This maternity nursing bra has an easy to get on feature I love. Most sports bras are pullover style, which can be a little snug when getting on and off. This adjustable sports nursing bra opens fully at the back, with a hook and eye closing for more room when pulling over your head. This also allows for you to easily change your band size postpartum, too.
Perfect for low-medium support such as lifting weights, yoga, or a brisk walk, this stylish and stretchy nursing bra is comfy and super soft to the touch. The nursing clips function easily so you can feed with ease.
These nursing bras come in sizes S-3XL, fitting a range of shapes up to a 44 band size and an I cup size.
Runner Up & Best All-in-One Maternity to Postpartum Sports Bra: Anook Athletics Nila Maternity and Nursing Sports Bra
The super comfy Nila bras by Anook Athletics has a strappy back for a stylish feature and is made with an antimicrobial liner to help wick sweat and breast milk.
It’s easy to nurse your little one with one handed, easy access clips to release the nursing panel. Designed for mid and low impact training, but with moms in mind, you can be glad of the comfy support.
It comes in sizes XS – XL, which fits up to a 38 band and DD cups.
Best Nursing Sports Bra for High Impact Activities: Kindred Bravely High Support Maternity and Breastfeeding Sports Bra
The high-support wireless sports bra has everything. It compresses and lifts to give you the support you need even in the most intense workout. Great for both pregnancy and postpartum, it has a sleek molded cups inside to separate and hold your breasts, and well-needed ventilation holes to keep you cool and comfortable.
The nursing panel on this bra has an adjustable ladder strap, but it’s not as easy as some of the other options to release without practice. The makers of this nursing bra recommend that it is designed to wear only while working out, so isn’t a great day-to-day option.
This bra is available in S – XXL, fitting sizes 30B – 42D.
Suitable for low impact activities, like yoga or hiking, you’ll manage the perfect downward-facing dog pose without boob spill! The super-soft nursing bra is made of breathable, sweat wicking fabric that will keep you dry and comfortable during your workout. And for easy breast feeding access, the pullover style has easy-to-clip-down cups.
We also love the range of sizes for this maternity nursing sports bra, with regular and ‘busty’ fittings for ladies with a larger cup size, that cover from 30B – 44I.
You can get this sports bra in a range of neutral and ombre color options too.
The firm fit fabric allows for the utmost support, for bouncy cardio and mid-to-high impact exercise. Plus the easy to undo nursing clips allow for easy access when baby is hungry. We love that this bra has adjustable straps on the back too, that you can wear crisscrossed or keep vertical.
One mum raves, “This bra has the best support for super-intense exercise and lets me breastfeed my baby right after or during my workout if needed! The size was right on and it washes up so well!”
When your nipples are being nibbled by your little one at every mealtime, comfort becomes top of the desired attributes list, and this nursing bra has that in spades. Rather than an unclip style, this sports bra for breastfeeding has a stretchy elastic upper band that allows you to easily lift your breast out at feeding time.
You definitely won’t be wearing this bra for a run around the park or a CrossFit class, but it’s a sports bra style option that is fine for a gentle yoga class, a walk with a mom friend, or even just nipping to the store. And it is such a comfortable fit!
Get this maternity bra in up to a size S-XL (size equivalent 42DD)
This pretty breastfeeding sports bra is supportive enough for medium level gym wear, and the lace racerback detail allows a feminine touch to help you feel that little bit cuter. Plus it comes in both a girly rose and classic black.
As with the earlier mentioned Simply Sublime® nursing bra, this one also comes in a busty size – so it’s a great pick for smaller band sizes but larger cups – up to an I!
There is removable padding that helps the bra keep its shape, and no uncomfortable underwire or hooks.
The patented design of the ultra-soft, comfortable Sublime supportive sports bra can be worn all day (or night!) for feeding, pumping, and everything in between.
It’s underwire-free with removable padding and it securely fits all standard pump flanges. This bra suits moms needing support for low-mid impact workouts.
As with the rest of the Sublime maternity range, this bra also comes in busty sizes – for larger cups – up to an I.
Best Sports Maternity Bras for Pumping (Tie): Love and Fit All in One Nursing and Hands-Free Pumping Sports Bra 3.0
Okay, I’m cheating a little and I couldn’t choose between the Love and Fit All in One and The Sublime® Hands-Free Nursing & Pumping Bra. This one is a good choice for high-impact workouts, as well as having all of the features of a pumping and nursing bra.
The easily accessible flap has two layers, one to nurse baby and one for pumping, so you don’t need to use a bra that is just for “pumping” again.
The back has adjustable straps, for a racerback or vertical fit, plus it has extra coverage to the top and sides of this bra to help you feel super secure.
You can get this nursing sports bra in sizes S-3XL, which fits up to a 44G.
This wireless maternity nursing bra allows you to exercise with ease, supporting you during a light to moderate workout. Although the racerback straps are not the thickest, it has a full coverage support, that is lightly padded to keeps you covered. When it’s time to feed baby, the clasps are easy to undo with one hand.
Worth noting, the moisture wicking fabric isn’t the stretchiest though, so if your breasts fluctuate a lot in size when your milk comes in, it might get a tad uncomfortable.
These nursing bras come in eight neutral color choices and sizes S-XL, but won’t fit bra cups bigger than a D.
(Runner Up) Breastfeeding Running Bra: SYROKAN Lightly Padded Wirefree Racerback High Impact Sports Bra
Sporty moms love this SYROKAN maternity nursing bra.
Wearers share that the fabric on this sports bra isn’t as soft or fancy as some of the other options, but for keeping you supported and in place during a run, this bra is the one! The wide straps keep you lifted and feel secure. And the racerback straps keep the bra concealed under workout tops.
The nursing panel is held with a velcro fastening, so it opens easily, for mid-workout feeding.
Get this bra in sizes up to 42, and an F cup.
(Runner Up) Nursing Sports Bras for Smaller Breasts: La Leche League High Impact Support Nursing Bra
Moms love the high-impact support of this nursing sports bra, by La Leche League.
The one-handed nursing buckles allow you to release your breast for feeding discretely. However, the clip seems a little far up the shoulder. You might need to adjust a little for the right angle.
The only issue with this La Leche League high impact sports bra is that it runs SMALL. Many women need to size up (even twice) on the band. But the bra size range means that it isn’t great for breasts larger than a DD/E.
How to Shop for the Best Nursing Sports Bras
One thing to remember when buying your nursing sports bras is to size up! When nursing, your breasts will change shape and grow on a daily basis. Allow room for milk-filled boobs to be at their fullest, while still being comfortable and not too tight! Also, you need to allow room for nursing pads as well as your boobs in there.
As the rib cage expands during pregnancy, you might also need a bigger band size. Measure before buying, and buy a size or two larger than you normally would to stay comfortable.
Think about the level of support you need in sports bras while breastfeeding. It will be specific for your activity, and may be worth getting a few fit-for-purpose bras.
If you are a runner and bounce around, or have larger breasts, you’ll need more support in a nursing sports bra with breastfeeding boobs.
And lastly, check the closures. I recommend a breastfeeding sports bra with easy nursing closures. You want to be able to navigate it with one hand and a hungry baby. Having an easy access latch that allows quick access to your boob will be a godsend when you’re caught on the go.
