Co-Founder & Editor, Katie Matthews, MA
Founder and Editor of GreenActiveFamily.com, Katie was born and raised on Canada's west coast. She became acutely aware of the toxins and chemicals allowed in baby products when she was pregnant with her daughter. Long an enthusiastic researcher and writer, she realized she could help other families make more informed, non-toxic purchases for their own families by sharing what she found. Prior to starting this website, Katie spent close to a decade as a travel blogger, and has written for National Geographic. Katie, her lifestyle, and her products have been featured in the Washington Post, Business Insider, The New York Times, and more.
Contributing Writer, Alicia Betz, M.A.Ed
Alicia is a former teacher turned work at home mom, working as a freelance writer specializing in parenting and education. Alicia is known among her friends and family as an over-researcher when she purchases products, and she tries to find non-toxic, clean options. She has always tried to live a healthy lifestyle, but after having her daughter, she realized just how important it is to keep chemicals and toxic ingredients away from developing babies and kids. When she’s not writing and researching products with a napping toddler on her lap, you can find her traveling, exercising, baking, and spending time with her family (including her German Shepherd!). She has written for Scholastic, Business Insider, Her View From Home, and more.
Contributing Writer, Kris Gadsby, BScN & Registered Nurse (UK)
Kris is a fun-loving mother of 4 and a nurse currently living in beautiful Australia. Her family loves to travel and recently spent a year-long stint in Southeast Asia. She loves to write for her travel blog Gadsventure and has also written for other top travel blogs including World Travel Family. The family are advocates for homeschooling after educating their 4 kids on the road this year and believe that little changes that we make can make a big difference to our lives. Health and wellness start at home through education and awareness, so Kris and her family prioritise their healthy lifestyle living close to the beach and enjoying every day.
